Privacy Policy

FaultCodeLab uses Google Analytics with Consent Mode v2 storage denied by default, plus hosting logs and technical security logs, to understand site usage, improve user experience, monitor performance, and keep the site stable.

Controller and operator placeholders

For this policy, the controller is described as FaultCodeLab, the site name. The final legal operator details are still placeholders: [legal name - to be added], [country - to be added], [contact email - to be added].

These placeholders must be completed before monetization or a full Impressum/legal notice is published.

Legal bases

  • Legitimate interests: site security, abuse prevention, debugging, performance monitoring, and aggregate product analytics.
  • Consent: any future analytics storage or optional communication flow that requires consent.
  • Legal obligation: records needed to respond to lawful requests or enforce site terms.

What the site collects

  • No account profile is created.
  • No payment information is collected.
  • No contact form message is stored by this site.
  • Search, model-number, filter, and service-prep fields run in the browser and are not sent to a FaultCodeLab database in the current version.
  • Google Analytics is configured to deny analytics, advertising, ad user-data, and ad-personalization storage by default, so page measurement should use cookieless aggregate signals unless a later consent control changes that setting.
  • Technical logs may include device type, browser, site language, approximate location, visited pages, referrer information, timestamps, and performance or error signals needed to deliver and protect the site.

How this data is used

FaultCodeLab uses analytics and technical data to understand which pages are useful, improve navigation and search quality, measure performance, protect against abuse, debug errors, and maintain site reliability. Hosting and network providers may also process standard request data needed to deliver the site.

Analytics boundaries

Analytics should be used for aggregate product and technical decisions, not for appliance diagnosis. FaultCodeLab does not intentionally collect payment details, account data, addresses, serial numbers, repair notes, contact details, or raw search text for analytics.

Recipients and transfers

Hosting, network, security, and analytics providers may process technical data needed to deliver the site. Because GA4 remains in use, Google LLC may receive aggregate analytics signals and may process data in the United States or other countries under Google's transfer safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.

Retention

Browser-only fields are not stored in a FaultCodeLab database. Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for security, debugging, and site operations; exact hosting-log retention is pending: [retention period - to be added]. GA4 retention is managed in the Google Analytics property: [GA4 retention setting - to be added].

Data subject rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, receive a portable copy, or withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. You may also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority.

How to exercise rights

The rights contact is pending: [contact email - to be added]. Until that contact is complete, do not submit personal data through public comments or external forums when discussing appliance codes.

English version controls

If a translated legal page conflicts with the English source page, the English source page controls to the extent allowed by applicable law.
